| Although Family Origins is the easiest to use

Main Screen
Family Origins has 2 main views: the Tree View
and the Family View. You switch between the two
views by simply clicking on the tab for the desired view. Both views are fully
navigatible using either the mouse or arrow keys. Double clicking on a person's name
brings up the data entry screen for that person.
The
Edit Screen
The Family Origins edit screen allows you to add an
unlimited number of facts for every person (i.e. birth, death, marriage, occupation,
religion, description, etc). If you want to add a fact type that isn't in Family Origins'
predefined list, you can simply create your own fact types. Family Origins also allows
notes and unlimited source citations for every fact.
The
Family Origins Explorer
The Family Origins Explorer is the heart of
Family Origins' search system. The Explorer helps you quickly find any person in
your database, and allows you to add, edit, or delete any information for that person.
The
Source Manager
Family Origins provides a full Source Manager
which allows you to add, edit, delete, merge and print the sources of your information.
Simply add the source once, then when you add a fact to a person and want to document
where that information came from, you simply point to the source in the Source Manager.

Reports
Family Origins offers the largest selection of printouts available in a
genealogy program, all available from a single report dialog. Pedigree
charts, family group sheets, 4 types of box charts, 6
styles of books (where Family Origins writes the sentences for you),
27 different lists, mailing labels, calendars, hourglass trees, graphical
timelines, relationship charts, letter writing templates, individual summaries, 5 types of photo charts, and 7 types of blank
charts. And if that isn't enough, Family Origins even provides a custom report
