How to contact us
One of the great features in Family Origins is the ability to create your own fact type(s).   This is done by selecting "Lists, Fact types" from the main menu, then telling Family Origins to create a "New" fact type.

Below are some fact types created and submitted by users.  If you have a user defined fact type you would like to share, click here and let us know.

Daughter of (or Son of)
Abbreviation: Daughter of
Pick List: Daughter of
Book usage: is the daughter of
Enable description field: Yes
Enable date and place field: No
Sample: He (or she) is the daughter of DESCRIPTION.
Death cause
Abbreviation: Death Cause
Pick List: Death Cause
Book usage: died from
Enable description field: Yes
Enable date and place field: Yes. Although this duplicates the date and place of death, I enter date but not place so the fact sorts out next to the Death Fact instead of at the end of all facts. Also, there is some value having the date printed on the Fact Usage List.
Preposition: "in"
Sample: He (or she) died from DESCRIPTION on 1 Jan 1900 in Los Angeles, California.
Hobbies
Abbreviation: Hobbies
Pick List: Hobbies
Book usage: enjoyed
Enable description field: Yes
Enable date and place field: No
Preposition: "in"
Sample: He (or she) enjoyed DESCRIPTION.
Joined
